Hello!
I'm Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and New York. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. I received my Masters of Social Work from George Mason University in 2014.
For the past ten years, I have gained valuable experience working with diverse populations, ages, and backgrounds. While employed with Prince William County, I provided clinical case management services, individual therapy, and group support to older adults living with serious mental illness. Following obtaining my License of Clinical Social Work in 2018, I joined the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health team at Kaiser Permanente where I provided individual and group psychotherapy to individuals under the age of 18. I was also part of the team responsible for facilitating the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Kaiser Permanente for Northern Virginia.
I love working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing anxiety or depression, may be feeling stuck and overwhelmed, have past trauma that may be impacting their life, or are experiencing current life, relationship, or everyday stressors.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of therapy. The approach that I take in therapy reflects this importance. I use a very warm, empathetic, and supportive approach to ensure that a safe environment is created. It is my goal to create a safe and supportive space for you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we will work to improve your overall happiness, mood, and quality of life. Through identifying and breaking down barriers and “stuck points” and learning skills, we will get you to a place of empowerment, fulfillment, and ultimately, your “best lyfe.”
I use a variety of different techniques and modalities in my treatment approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
My ideal client is committed and motivated to understanding themselves on a deeper level and gaining more self-compassion and self-love.
